Nigeria Machine Tools: facility visit

Adour International visited Nigeria Machine Tools’ facility in Osogbo, Osun state, Nigeria this week.


Nigeria Machine Tools (NMT) was established in 1983, as a joint venture between the Federal Government of Nigeria and Hindustan Machine Tools. It was privatized in 2007 and today is a subsidiary of the Quinn McGrath Group. The company is now positioned to develop its service offering to multiple sectors of the Nigerian economy with a strong focus on oil and gas and agriculture.


NMT is ISO 9001 certified, registered with the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) and is working towards OSHAS 18001 and ISO 14000 certifications.


It has many capabilities including heavy and light machining (conventional and CNC), design, fabrication, machine tool and agriculture vehicle assembly (tractors, etc.), galvanizing, powder coating, plating, thread rolling, flange machining and stud bolt manufacturing. The company also has an in-house foundry and training facility.


Production facilities include:

Heavy Parts Machine Shop – 8,640 sqm

Light Parts Machine Shop – 6,480 sqm

Foundry – 10,210 sqm

Metal Fabrication Shop – 675 sqm

Surface Treatment Plants – 675 sqm

Training Centre – 1,620 sqm
